Have you been to San Francisco?

I was very fortunate to visit San Francisco with my mum this past October – it was an experience of a lifetime! And let me tell you, I was not disappointed, it’s truly an awe-inspiring city. From it’s stunning landscapes and grand architecture like the golden gate bridge, to it’s funky street art and coffee shops, San Francisco has so much to offer. Although it may be pricey, there are tons of budget friendly options in this memorable city.

Day 1:

Arrival at SFO and our transfer to Cavallo Point – the Lodge at the Golden Gates. The resort itself was amazing, but the view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our room was just beautiful.

Room views at Cavallo Point Resort, with the Golden Gates just behind the trees.

One of my favourite parts of the stay at Cavallo Point, besides the wonderful scenery, was the hour aromatherapy massage we booked. The spa area was gorgeous and they even served scrumptious snacks and appetizers.

After lunch, me and my mum when for a hike around the area and took some striking photos of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset.

Around 7:00pm our group went out to Casa Medrona for a delicious dinner. It was right by the Bay and I don’t even have words to describe how picturesque it was so I’ll let the photos do the storytelling.

We got to see the sun set at dinner.
Day 2:

We had breakfast at the Murry Circle Restaurant which was part of the resort and then transferred to our other hotel in the city core on a tour bus. It was lots of fun and I learned so many interesting facts about the history of San Francisco & the Golden Gate Bridge.

Got a better view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I was so excited to stay at the W Hotel because it was fairly close to everything in the city but we were also right next door to the SF Museum of Modern Art (MOMA).

After settling down in our rooms we were out and about again – this time for lunch we went yachting on the San Francisco Bay and it was an experience of a lifetime.

Stunning sights while yachting on the San Francisco Bay.
Weather was great for sailing this time of year.

Next, we hopped onto one of the historic F line streetcars and went down to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Took at ride on one of the historic F-Line streetcars.

The famous fishing fleets, souvenir shops in the waterfront marketplace and historic ships add to the atmosphere that makes Fisherman’s Wharf one of the most popular places in San Francisco.

Even the signs above each pier are lovely.

Another reason I loved about Fisherman’s Wharf was Pier 39, it’s a great place to take the whole family as well. It features scenic views, sea lion sightings and a ton of eating options.

It was such a tiring day that when we had the evening to ourselves, me and my mum just ordered in-room dining and watched 2 movies. W Hotel has the best cheesecake ever!

Cheers for cheesecake!
Day 3:

This was our last day in San Francisco, but we still had lots of things planned to do and places to visit.

Breakfast at the W Hotel Restaurant.
City sky line of San Francisco at sunrise.

After breakfast around 10:30am we went down to Pier 33, took the boat cruise to the island and did the audio tour of Alcatraz Prison. I would highly recommend doing the audio tour, it was really cool listening to all the people in the tour speak about themselves or in the persons voice.

Got back to the hotel around 1pm so we decided to go to the San Francisco MOMA (free for anyone under 18). They also have a really cute café where you can sit and eat, so we had our lunch there. Later in the day we walked around the city and went to Union Square for a bit of shopping.

Funky lunch at the MOMA cafe.
Clock tower & entrance to market near Fisherman’s Wharf.

The last dinner in San Francisco was personally my favourite. We got to ride on a national historic landmark – a cable car, to our restaurant the EPIC Steak.

Mum and I took a ride on a historic cable car to our restaurant.

The view at the EPIC steak was amazing and the food was excellent!

View of the Oakland Bay Bridge from the restaurant.

Stunning interior of the EPIC Steak restaurant with a pretty amazing view.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to visit any second-hand bookshops but I definitely will next time.

San Francisco, you have a special place in my heart and I look forward to visiting again.

Hello! from India Yeldah 💙 I always love your feed and so do the website. The way you’ve presented the website is so authentic. Your pictures of San Francisco makes me curious and desperate at the same time to go to San Francisco once atleast. Now I’m so prompted in exploring more of it’s food, shopping places and yeah the bookstores you have missed. Perhaps in the last picture where you’re standing with your mother and twinning the jackets *that picture is the best* 🔥❤.
P.S-I’ve never been to any foreign country so yeah thankyou so much for showing me the best way via your own journey.
    Lots of love

  40. I always dreamt of visiting San Francisco, as it’s known for its hilly terrain, scenic beauty and world class finest restaurants, but the highlight of the visit is to see famous Golden Gate Bridge, not to mention Alcatraz Island,
    Fisherman’s Wharf and many others.
Eventhough I love walking, but I would take a chance riding hop on hop off double-decker so I can stop by at major San Francisco landmarks and taking epic pictures.
